Container transport by HIAB covers a wide range — from 20ft and 40ft shipping containers for storage, to specialised boxes used as offices, changing rooms, and event infrastructure.
Types of Container We Transport
- 20ft and 40ft ISO shipping containers for storage and conversion
- Smaller 8ft, 10ft and 16ft storage containers
- Site office containers
- Event containers — bars, changing rooms, production offices
- Refrigerated (reefer) containers for food events
The Delivery Process
Containers are lifted using twist-lock spreader frames attached to the container corner castings — standard ISO lifting points on all shipping containers. The HIAB lifts the container off our flatbed, swings it to the placement position, and lowers it precisely.
Containers can be stacked (typically up to 3-4 high on a suitable base) or placed end-to-end to form longer structures.
Site Preparation
Containers need a firm, reasonably level surface: a concrete pad for permanent installations, compacted hardcore with corner blocks, or timber bearers on firm ground. The HIAB truck needs access within the crane reach of the placement point.
Stacking
Stacking requires precision placement and should be done with twist-locks fitted between units for safety. We have extensive stacking experience for events and semi-permanent installations.
